The School of Law at Queen Mary University of London is ranked 10th in the UK and 50th in world in the THE World University Rankings 2024 by subject. This latest ranking confirms the School’s excellence in legal research and teaching.

This ranking recognises the breadth and impact our research has in society, business, and policy globally. Some of our research highlights include an investigation into the rise of cash earnings of oil company shareholders, various projects looking into Cloud Computing and its challenges, ongoing work into access to care for women from ethnic minority and migrant groups, and research into the role of IP in COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing and supply.
It also comes off the back of an incredible year of successes for our staff and students. Dafni Eirini Melitsi became the second Queen Mary student to win the Maritime Master’s Competition. We also had exceptional George Hinde Moot Competition for our undergraduate students. Professor Julia Hörnle was shortlisted by the THE for Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year and won two awards from Queen Mary for teaching and research. Ian Yates was also awarded the prestigious Queen Mary Medal for his contribution to the School of Law and Queen Mary.
