Dr Franziska Arnold-Dwyer presented her new book, 'Insurance, Climate Change and the Law' at the International Underwriting Association (IUA).
At the invitation of the IUA, Dr Franziska Arnold-Dwyer, Senior Lecturer in Insurance Law, Contract Law and Sustainability at Queen Mary University of London, gave a presentation on her new book 'Insurance, Climate Change and the Law', published by Informa Law, to the IUA Climate Risk Committee. The IUA is the representative body for companies in London providing international and wholesale insurance and reinsurance coverage. In her presentation, Dr Arnold-Dwyer outlined the evolving legal landscape at the intersection of insurance and climate change as it applies to insurers. She proposes a new vision for the role of the insurance industry as climate action enablers of climate action: enabling policyholders, investee companies and other stakeholders in their energy transition; supporting actors in the value chain and in the wider community to take climate mitigation action, to adopt climate change adaptation measures and to build resilience; and contributing to climate finance with their investments.
