A commercial law centre maximising professional opportunities with an international and comparative focus in the heart of Paris
The Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) at Queen Mary University of London specialises in the knowledge and skills in commercial law that can be placed at the service of government, public bodies, overseas institutions, the legal profession, industry and commerce.
CCLS in London was created in 1980 by Sir Roy Goode. Over the last forty years, CCLS has developed an in depth expertise in specific areas of commercial law. Having commenced with banking and finance and intellectual property law, CCLS expanded to cover arbitration, information technology, new technologies, media, international economic law, international institutions, tax, development, corporate governance, and more recently insurance, energy and shipping law.
In 2013, CCLS in Paris was created, extending CCLS’ successful programmes and activities internationally. Led by its Director, Dr Garry Gabison, CCLS Paris offers several study programmes, research events and conferences, in collaboration with and support from its local partners, including the University of London Institute in Paris (ULIP).
