CEG's Dr John Robson and Dr Stuart Rison are among the speakers and panelists at a forthcoming in-person event hosted by The King’s Fund. ‘Accelerating progress on cardiovascular disease’ will bring together leaders and experts from across the NHS and its partners, to discuss ways of reducing heart disease in the population and improving early detection, management and treatment of heart disease and its risk factors.
Dr John Robson will present ‘The Clinical Effectiveness approach’ as part of session two, breakout B: The role of primary care in early detection and treatment of risk factors. As a GP, reader, and co-founder of CEG, John has published extensively on managing cardiovascular conditions in primary care, with a particular focus on using GP record data to address inequalities. During the session, he will present CEG’s approach to Quality Improvement - which includes GP practice support from our team of facilitators, clinical leadership, smart tools and data analysis - as well as his key learnings on implementing the approach successfully.
Dr Stuart Rison will join the panel discussion during session four: Accelerating change. Stuart is a Clinical Research Fellow at CEG and an out of hours GP in east London. He previously worked as a practice GP in Hackney and Tower Hamlets - two of London’s most diverse and socially deprived boroughs with a high prevalence of cardiovascular disease. The panel will consider how national leaders should prioritise cardiovascular disease prevention to reduce demand on health and social care services, and the enablers to tackling cardiovascular disease at a local level, including data, innovation, peer learning and community engagement.
‘Accelerating progress on cardiovascular disease’ will take place in person at The King’s Fund, on 20 June 2023, 8.30am – 5pm. A full programme and booking information are available on The King’s Fund website.
