Alex BrownManager, QM Centre for Creative CollaborationEmail: alex.brown@qmul.ac.ukProfileProfileAlex spent 15 years working in the arts and cultural sector before joining Queen Mary in 2023 and becoming the manager of the QM Centre for Creative Collaboration. He was the Creative Engagement Manager at Rich Mix, an arts centre in Bethnal Green, where he collaborated with many grassroots organisations and freelance artists, musicians, photographers and filmmakers to create opportunities and projects for young people and local communities in east London. Alex is an experienced creative youth worker who has run projects in schools, colleges and youth clubs using music, art and drama to support young people to build confidence and develop skills. He was the Participation Producer at the Almeida Theatre, where he ran open access workshops and produced a radio drama and online festival during the pandemic, and was Associate Director at The Big House, a creative charity working with care leavers. He has worked in script development at the BBC and Sister, and as a theatre director he worked on plays and projects at the National Theatre, Old Vic, Birmingham Rep, Lyric Hammersmith and Young Vic. He also plays saxophone and has performed at festivals including Glastonbury, Lovebox and Citadel. Research
