His regional specialism focuses on the Southern Cone encompassing Argentina, Chile, British Overseas Territories in the South Atlantic (including the Falkland Islands/Islas Malvinas) and Antarctica. He was formerly a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow working on a project exploring, ‘The making of the geopolitical citizen: the case of the Falklands/Malvinas’.
