Profile

Mark Drumbl is the Class of 1975 Professor of Law and Director of the Transnational Law Institute at Washington and Lee University. He is author of Atrocity, Punishment, and International Law (Cambridge University Press, 2007), Reimagining Child Soldiers in International Law and Policy (Oxford University Press, 2012), Research Handbook on Child Soldiers (Elgar, 2019, with Jastine Barrett), Getting Collaborators (Oxford University Press, forthcoming, with Barbora Holá), and The Aesthetics of Atrocity Trials (Brill, 2023, with Caroline Fournet). He has lectured and consulted and spoken widely on issues related to the prevention of child soldiering and with Dr. Christelle Molima is co-organizing a conference in April 2023 on Global North-Global South perspectives and cross-overs between children in armed groups and children in criminal organizations and subject to dangerous labor practices.
