Profile

Educated in England and South Africa, I hold degrees in English, Social Anthropology and Law. I have worked as an academic in England, Scotland, France, Fiji and Vanuatu. My research draws on case studies from Pacific island states to engage with wider themes. I am currently seconded to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the U.K. government as a Research Fellow funded by AHRC/ESRC/FCDO, to provide research information on the Pacific Island States. I have published widely on a range of topics relevant to this network group.

Expertise

Human rights, women and children, resource rights including land, marine resources, traditional knowledge and cultural expression, family law and children and the law. Methodologies include ethnographic research, engagement with legal pluralism and comparative legal method.
