Professor Lucinda Heimer

Profile

Lucinda Heimer, Professor in the Early Childhood/Special Education Licensure Program and Coordinator of the MSE in Early Childhood Education Policy at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, has published articles, chapters and a book on early childhood policy using critical theory and ethnography to illuminate perspectives of identity, race, and social justice centering equity. Dr. Heimer has taught university courses on curriculum, racism, and ECE policy, supervised students, taught in preschool and elementary classrooms, and worked as an ECEC center director. Her work spans public, private and tribal settings.
