Profile

Allison Leanage completed her Ph.D. in Sociology, specializing in social psychology and social inequality. Her doctoral dissertation examined the mental health correlates of children and youth in Canada across immigrant generations in the family, community, and education context, considering gender and race/ethnicity characteristics. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Statistical Software. Currently, she is a Research Associate at the Advanced Research on Mental Health and Society (ARMS) at McMaster University and a Sociologist for the Social Analysis and Modelling Division in Statistics Canada. Additionally, she is a Research Associate for the Department of Sociology for the WHO World Mental Health International College Student (WMH-ICS) Initiative/Student E-Mental Health project. She has designed and instructed a number of courses on statistical topics at McMaster University and works with administrative and social survey data to examine various child and youth outcomes.
