Dr Rosa Maria Mendizabal-Espinosa

Profile

Rosa is based at the Evidence for Policy and Practice Information and Coordination Centre (EPPI-Centre) in UCL. She conducts qualitative research within neonatal and paediatric healthcare and policy focused evidence syntheses. Her research portfolio includes parental involvement in neonatal healthcare (intensive care units), and in shared decision-making in neonatal and paediatric healthcare in the UK and Mexico. She has a special interest in children's rights, particularly to article 24 UNCRC - the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health and article 12 UNCRC - respect for the views the child. Her research is underpinned by a critical realist approach and spans across the disciplines of the social, psychological, biomedical and neurosciences.
