My research interests are within the sociology of childhood and youth, with a recent focus on mindsport education. As an international bridge player who has represented Scotland since 2008, I am currently developing the sociology of mindsport as a new field of research. The project, Bridge: A MindSport for All (BAMSA) explores the social interactions and dynamics of serious leisure, including intergenerationality, emotions, identities and gendered inequalities (see https://bridgemindsport.org/).
