Ophelia is a PhD candidate at the European University Institute in Florence. She earned her BA and MA from the University of Geneva in political science with a focus on political theory. Her dissertation departs from the solidarity movement with people on the move and focuses on the everyday life of activists in border areas. Based on a multi-sited ethnography along the Italian northern borderlands, she analyse how the interaction between space and affect transforms activists’ subjectivities. Ophelia will join the DEMETRA project from October 2024 as part of the University of Geneva team. More generally, she is interested in social movements, critical and feminist theory, methodology and research ethics.
