Dr Ali Nankali, D. Stom, PhD, CMS - Prosthodontics

Profile

Dr. Ali Nankali holds the distinguished position of Clinical Reader in Digital Dentistry at the Teaching and Innovation (Adult Oral Health) Centre, Barts and The London Medical and Dental School.

In 1998, he developed a pronounced interest in Restorative Dentistry, initiating comprehensive research on the application of post and cores. As a result of his investigative efforts, Dr. Nankali introduced several pioneering inventions to the Scientific Board of the Orthopaedic and Implant Department at NMU. Among these innovations were the Nankali Post System, Nankali bur, and groundbreaking classifications.

In recognition of his academic excellence, Dr. Nankali was conferred a PhD by the National Medical University (NMU) in Kiev, Ukraine, in 2004. Subsequently, he earned the title of Specialist/Consultant in Prosthodontics. His background in engineering, combined with his clinical expertise in Prosthetics and Maxillofacial practices, has enabled him to produce seminal research on the distribution of masticatory force and the mechanical resilience of dental hard tissues. These achievements have solidified his reputation in the scientific domain.

Currently, Dr. Nankali's professional engagements largely revolve around mentoring postgraduate and PhD candidates. He also consistently leads CPD sessions and other specialized courses.

Posturedontics, Nankali Ali, ISBN 978-1-5272-0945-9, 2017, Copyright © by Ali Nankali, 111 pages, I am also involved in other related areas, for example with posture and positioning for clinical practitioners. The Royal College of Surgeons in England, have invited speaker (Teach Practical Courses 2016-2019) The book published is “Posturedontics” (Nankali 2018) (see above). This book is unique in that provides the appropriate information for dental practitioners about working posture.

Teaching students about appropriate postures and positions, thereafter, the students arranged a lecture on this topic for other learners/practitioners and some member of staff. This book is now bavailable internationally. Planmeca Finland is announced that they would provide the book as a manual of how to use their dental chairs in 2020.

 

Patents & Novels

As there is no patent for treatment methods, the new creations for treating human is expressed as novels by the Intellectual Office of UK.

I also am a very innovative person, and have been successful in a number of scientific research areas, and as a result, I have 11 patents and novels filed in dentistry and 6 in non-dental works.

5. Nankali Masticatory Force Systematization: Novel 2003 – The first time it was presented in the National Medical University’s Scientific Board
6. Masticatory force and teeth hardness relation: Nankali Ali Novel 2003 - Inovation was published in the Ukraine Scientific Medical Youth Journal
7. Nankali Mastication Theory: 2003 – This is about the biomechanics of Mandible at the time of mastication, provided for education at NMU
8. Dam-bow: 2013 - A new device is designed and used in congestion with rubber dam for anterior teeth preparation by Ali Nankali
9. Artificial Tongue: 2014 – Providing a new type of artificial tongue by Ali Nankali that are used for dental undergraduate students in phantom head
10. Nankali Veneer Classification: Novel 2014: A new combined classification for veneers.
11. Nankali Crown Taper Investigator (2016), an instrument to help dental students and practitioners achieve higher clinical outcomes for their crown preparations. The suggested product has a very simple design and after some required adjustment finally managed to make the prototype for testing.
