He offers extensive expertise in overseeing and coordinating research grant applications, securing grants and funding, and fostering collaborations between academic and industrial partners. Additionally, he works closely with the Director of Graduate Studies and plays a pivotal role in supporting the smooth operation of postgraduate research activities within the institution. This includes providing comprehensive administrative support to postgraduate research students, academic staff, and the graduate studies committee. Prior to joining in this role, Aneesh completed his PhD in infection and immunology, during which he received a prestigious Newton-Bhabha fellowship to develop a collaboration with the TB research group at the University of Surrey in the UK, where he subsequently held his first postdoctoral position. In 2018, Aneesh joined UCL to study human immune response variation in TB, aiming to identify functional immune correlates of protection and pathogenesis by combining genomics, transcriptomics, and host-pathogen interactions in macrophages.
