Profile

Dr Bissasu has taught in the Institute of Dentistry, QMUL for more than 2 years. The courses that he teaches are Introduction to clinical skills- Cariology, Crown & Bridge and Foundation Restorations. 

Dr Bissasu taught in Syria for 9 years in Damascus University and Kalamoon University. Where he supervised undergraduate students in crown and bridge courses, and also taught undergraduate dental technician students in crown and bridge and dental ceramic courses.

As a research assistant in QMUL, his main interest is dental ceramic. As a research team, they are synthesizing a novel glass ceramic material, which is going to be commercially produced in the near future. His main in vivo and in vitro research interests are resin bonded bridges, veneers, esthetic zone and all-ceramic restorations

Teaching

Dr Bissasu has been teaching in the Institute of Dentistry, QMUL for more than 2 years. The courses that he teaches in the clinical skills lab are Introduction to clinical skills- Cariology (BDS5001), Crown & Bridge and Foundation Restorations (BDS6300). He has also participated in marking and assessing several exams and assignments; the BDS 2 Clinical Practice paper, 2nd Year UG Case Reports for Transition 4, Social Responsibility-Year 2 and OSCE Resit Examination.

 

 

Research

Research Interests:

As a research assistant at QMUL, Dr Bissasu's main interest is dental ceramic. As a research team, they are synthesizing a novel glass ceramic material, which is going to be commercially produced in the near future. They have published an article in the Dental Materials journal and are preparing other articles to be published in the near future. Throughout working in the research field, he has developed several research skills and learnt a number of laboratory tests. His main in vivo and in vitro research interests are resin bonded bridges, veneers, esthetic zone and all-ceramic restorations.
