DERI invites applicants to submit an expression of interest for the Royal Society's University Research Fellowship (URF) scheme to be hosted at DERI.
The URF programme is aimed at outstanding early career researchers. The scheme is designed to support the next generation of research leaders to undertake cutting-edge research, and provides support for successful candidates to establish an independent research career, developing their research and expanding their network.
The scheme offers a total of 1.83M over a period of 8 years that can support costs such as salaries, research expenses, equipment, and relocation costs.

Review Process
Expressions of interest will be reviewed by a DERI review panel, and candidates will be informed of the outcome. We encourage candidates not to start working on a full application until they have received confirmation that we are able to support their application. The Panel will consider excellence, and novelty of the proposed research, the candidate's academic excellence and career trajectory, suitability for the URF scheme, and fit to DERI when reviewing applications. Successful candidates will be helped with the application process, including preparing of the costings, and support with writing, and submitting the application.
Candidates can expect to be notified of the outcome of their Expression of Interest by August 12th.
