As the academic year ends, the Digital Education Studio joins in celebrating FMD’s achievements and best practice in digital learning.
This year’s Education Excellence Awards and President and Principal’s Prizes lists three FMD recipients who developed innovative digital learning practice:
The Learning Innovation Team at the Institute of Health Science Education created a blended learning programme, designed by students, for the graduate entry medical degree, the first blended medical course of its kind in the UK.
This cross-Faculty team co-created an interactive learning resource with students to help users understand academic integrity and ethics when using AI and to develop their knowledge and skills of AI as they progress through their degree.
You can learn more about this project in an article from the February edition of our newsletter
The team created teaching sessions to help students transition from the classroom to the clinical environment, where they take clinical decisions on the management of virtually hospitalised patients and receive instant feedback in a large classroom setting.
Two causes for celebration, beyond these awards.
Dr Aylin Baysan has been appointed FMD's new Equality Diversity and Inclusion Lead, joining the EDI Leadership team to deliver the Faculty’s ambitious strategy to embed the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion in its work and practice.
The MA Medical Education, a programme developed in collaboration with the Digital Education Studio, has been accredited by the Academy of Medical Educators. The Academy provided independent validation of the course quality judged against its Professional Standards and the accreditation brings several advantages to the programme’s students.
These awarded projects share a common foundation of collaboration and technology-enhanced student-centered approaches. Congratulations to the teams for their innovative and impactful work.
