Course Details  

Funded by the British Council, Queen Mary University of London co-develops a free four-week online Digital Health course with Ain Shams University, where its virtual hospital is accredited as the first telemedicine hospital outside the United States by the American URAC.

In October 2023, Queen Mary University of London was awarded Excellence in Digital Health Education of the year award at Med-tech World.

Over four weeks, you will explore what digital health is and what it means for the future of medicine and healthcare. The course is entirely online and designed so you can learn in your own time.

Course Description 

This course is designed for health professionals and adult learners with interest in digital health, who wish to advance their knowledge and career in the work related to digital health. Whether you are already using and applying digital technologies in a healthcare environment or a novice, intrigued to find out how digital technologies are changing healthcare, this course is for you.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Identify the range of topics and activities encompassed by the term ‘digital health’.

• Discuss the potential benefits and drawbacks of digital health technologies and practices in relation to consulting with patients and diagnosing, treating and monitoring ill-health.
• Apply and critique telemedicine practice principles.
• Identify and critique ways in which digital health technologies and practices might impact on your own medical, dental or other primary healthcare practice.
• Develop a plan to effectively incorporate appropriate digital health technologies and practices in your own medical practice.

This course is designed for health professionals, clinicians and students, and other adult learners with an interest in digital health.

No prior knowledge is required to take the course.

The course commences on 15 January 2024. You may start the course any time after that date.

Please note this course will be in English.

Digital Certificates of Completion 

Certificate fee: £40 (free of charge for staff and students from Queen Mary University of London and Ain Shams University) 

You will be eligible to receive a digital certificate of completion from both Queen Mary University of London and Ain Shams University upon fulfilling the below two requirements: 

• Complete all the course quizzes with a minimum of 80% grade
