The BUPT-QMUL Joint Teaching and Learning Centre (JTLC) hosted a panel discussion on “Challenges and opportunities for the future of UK-China transnational education (TNE)” at the QMUL Festival of Education on 8th March 2021.
The main goal of the discussion was to identify post-pandemic solutions and find potential collaborations around the UK-China TNE.
Dr Ling Ma (deputy director of the JTLC) led the discussion and Dr Maria Romero-Gonzalez chaired the session. The participating panellists were Dr Michael Chai (QM Director of Joint Programme with BUPT), Dr Gabriel Cavalli (Director of the International Centre for Teaching and Learning (Queen Mary Engineering School, NPU), Dr Mark Maconochie (Co-Director of Nanchang Joint Programme) and Dr Giulia De Falco (Reader, Nanchang Joint Programme).The panel discussed a wide range of topics including student engagement, academic performance, student feedback, delivery model, travel, pedagogy in engineering education and professional standards. The audience across the QMUL also joined the discussion via live chat (moderated by Andy Watson and Dr Atm Alam). This event was well attended (tickets were sold out!)
