A transnational education (TNE) event was held online and attended by academic and professional services staff from Queen Mary’s three China-focused programmes.
Over 35 staff joined the event and shared their experiences, ideas and suggestions for how to improve student engagement and attainment, teaching and assessment.
The event was opened by Dr Mark Maconochie - Co-Director of the Nanchang Joint Programme - who welcomed delegates and stressed the importance of collaboration, especially during Covid times. Attendees were broken into smaller breakout groups on the topics of “Student Engagement” and “Assessment”, to make it easier to share ideas and experiences. The event concluded with a speech from Dr Michael Chai - QM Director of the Joint Programme with BUPT- and Prof Andy Bushby - Executive Vice-Dean of QMES with Northwestern Polytechnical University - who highlighted the excellent discussions that had taken place and thanked colleagues for their energy and enthusiasm.
