'The Science of the Bleeding Obvious'
Karim Brohi, Professor of Trauma Sciences
Trauma is one of the world's leading causes of death and disability. Some trauma patients develop a profound derangement of their ability to form blood clots, associated with a 4-fold increased likelihood of dying. This talk will focus on our world-leading research into identifying and understanding Trauma-Induced Coagulopathy.
Karim Brohi was born at the London Hospital, studied medicine at University College London and trained in London, Oxford, Cape Town and San Francisco. He was appointed consultant trauma and vascular surgeon at Barts and The London NHS Trust in 2006. His special research focuses on post-traumatic coagulopathy and inflammation.
