The EECS Distinguished Lecturer Seminar Series takes place throughout the year. It gives leading Academics and Industrialists the opportunity to present their work to a broader audience. All events will be preceded at 2.45pm by tea and followed at 4pm by a reception, both in the Informatics Hub located on the 3rd. floor of the Computer Science Building, Mile End Road.
Frances Allen, IBM Fellow Emerita, received the A.M. Turing Award in 2006 for her achievements in optimizing computer programs and high-performance computing systems. Her talk will focus on how the shift in basic technology is creating a need for new computer designs and software systems.
