Human Rights, Bloody Human Rights - A business and human rights experience / workshop
The core of 'Human Rights, Bloody Human Rights' project is to broadly promote public, practice and policy level engagement through an interactive forum style workshop based on initial case study work by Professor Dignam and Amnesty International on recurring issues in corporate human rights abuse. The focus of the workshop will be community information / communication problems, the lawyers role in Corporate Human Rights issues, corporate group liability, UK Corporate Human rights policy (FCO and BIS) and Human Rights issues in investment Arbitration cases. The idea being to present the core of some of the recurring issues in problematic case studies of private corporate power and engage the workshop participants in feeding back perceptions and potential solutions to the problematic exercise of private power. The workshops take place October 17-26th 2013 in Belfast, Dublin, London and Cambridge.
