Michael Horovitz has edited New Departures publications and produced Jazz Poetry and Poetry Olympics events since 1959, his last student year at Oxford. Michael was dubbed An original poet, with an original voice by Margaret Drabble; a Popular, Experienced, New Jerusalem, Jazz Generation, Sensitive Bard by Allen Ginsberg; A dreamer, a maverick . . . transmedial crusader by Martin Amis; and Britain's worst-dressed poet by Vogue.
Peter Lawson is a poet, literary critic, researcher and tutor at the Open University. His first volume of poetry, Senseless Hours (Bayswater Press), appeared in 2009. Among his critical works are two books on British Jewish poetry: Passionate Renewal: Jewish Poetry in Britain since 1945 (Five Leaves, 2001) and Anglo-Jewish Poetry from Isaac Rosenberg to Elaine Feinstein (Vallentine Mitchell, 2006). The former was awarded a Poetry Book Society Special Commendation.
