The Fifth Biennial Mathematics and Computation in Music Conference (mcm2015.qmul.ac.uk) is co-hosted by the Schools of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (Centre for Digital Music) and the School of Mathematical Sciences, and is promoted by QMUL in association with the Society for Mathematics and Computation in Music, London Mathematical Society, Institute of Musical Research, and the EPSRC.
The keynote speakers are: Gareth Loy (author of the two-volume Musimathics), Andre Ehresmann (Universite Picardie Jules Verne), Emilia G'mez (University Pompeu Fabra), and Ge Wang (Stanford University and Co-founder, Smule).
This year's program features posters and talks based on papers on notation and representation, mathematical patterns, music generation, deep learning, performance, geometric approaches, post-tonal music analysis, and scales. Accepted papers are scheduled to appear in Springer's LNAI 9110.
In addition to the scientific program, as part of this year's conference, there will be two concerts that will be free and open to the public:
