Night at the Museum - the secrets behind pathology (and making them public)

How do we make the subject of pathology more interesting to members of the public? How have some of pathology's great personalities contributed to education in the subject? What secrets lurk in the path lab? What secrets lurk in the path museum?

To find out, come to this special lecture given by the Immediate Past President of the Royal College of Pathologists in memory of the museum's curator, Professor Paola Domizio, who sadly passed away last year. Paola was an advocate of public engagement and the lecture will encourage audience engagement using interactive technology.

We welcome new visitors so do please come along and see the collection of some 4000 or so pathological specimens as well as finding out more about how we are opening up this unique collectyion to the public. .

  

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Due to the nature of specimens in the museum minors should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Alcohol is available at this event so attendees must be over 18 to be served. Proof of age may be required.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The museum sits mid point of three Undergound stations: St.Paul's, Barbican and Farringdon. The number 56 and 46 buses stop outside. There is an NCP car park on nearby Long Lane outside the meat market. The museum is located within the congestion charge zone.  What can I bring into the event?

So long as you respect the specimens and the safety and security of others, we have no other restrictiions.

 What's the refund policy?

Full refund if we have to cancel the event. Otherwise latest 17.00 hrs two days before the event starts. After that we can't refund.

 Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes please, it helps us but it is not absolutely necessary as we have a printed list of attendees.
