Beethoven, Hegel & Hölderlin at 250 Thoughts on the presence of triadic structures in their works.
It is rare to be able to celebrate three of the most outstanding voices in philosophy, poetry and music in one year. But 2020 provided us with such an opportunity being the 250th anniversary of Georg W.F. Hegel's, Friedrich Hölderlin's and Ludwig van Beethoven's birth. This lecture by Professor Rüdiger Görner will examine the striking triadic structures in the works of all three iconic representatives of German culture. Exploring this one surprising common denominator in their respective works offers a modest contribution to the celebration of their world-wide legacy.
The event will be accompanied with excerpts of Beethoven's music performed by Queen Mary University Music Scholars.
