Waiving IP for Covid-19 related health products and technologies: prospects and solutions

The webinar will assess the current state of play and prospects for an intellectual property (IP) waiver in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The panel will assess the proposal of India and South Africa for a TRIPS waiver, the announcement that the United States is prepared to support the waiving of IP for Covid-19 vaccines, and the counter proposal of the EU.

The event is jointly hosted by the Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute (QMIPRI), Queen Mary University of London, and the Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Research and Application Center (FISAUM), Ankara University.
