Chloe is Professor of Infection and Inequities and Director of the interdisciplinary SHARE Research Collaborative for health equity. She is Dean for Healthcare Transformation in the Faculty of Medicine at Queen Mary University of London. She has been a Consultant Physician at Barts Health NHS Trust since 2003.
Chloe’s research on viral therapeutics, mpox, equitable inclusion in research and blood-borne virus testing has changed international and national guidelines. She has played a seminal role in the development and clinical use of the first long-acting treatment for HIV.
Her current leadership roles include: Clinical advisor to WHO on Inclusion of pregnant people in HIV research, Scientific Advisor to the Medicines Patent Pool and Co-Chair of the International Conference on HIV Drug Therapy.
Past leadership roles include: clinical advisor to WHO Europe for Mpox (2022-23), Chair of the British HIV Association (2016-19), Medical Women's Federation President (2021-23), IAS Governing Council (2020-24).
Locally, Chloe has served the Faculty as Athena Swan Chair (2019-2021) and Academic EDI Lead 2021-2024.
Chloe was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire for service to the National Health Service in 2024.
