During your local induction, your line manager will let you know about any training you need to do for your role; for example, if you’re going to be carrying out manual handling, or working with hazardous substances.
There is also some training that all staff need to do. This ensures that we comply with regulation and legislation, and that we maintain high professional and ethical standards across the University.
The Mandatory Training page on the Organisational & Professional Development website outlines what you’ll need to do. We recommend that you spread this training out over a couple of weeks so that you’ll have time to reflect and discuss as needed.

At Queen Mary, we are committed to maintaining a safe environment to work and study in. Your safety and health is important to us, and therefore we want to ensure you are aware of how we can work together to minimise risks as far as reasonably practicable.
Please ensure you complete your health and safety induction, with your line manager’s support, within the first few weeks of starting your new role.
