Louise Ainslie receives her award from Martin Begg (Master of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators) - announced by Professor Gemma Harvey - during the Myddleton Lunch at Trinity House in January 2024.

We're pleased to share the news that Louise Ainslie (MSc Water and Environmental Management) has been awarded the Water Conservation Trust Dissertation Award by the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators for her dissertation “Nutrient Neutrality: how does land use change affect soil and water nutrient concentrations and soil health at the National Trust Hinton Ampner Estate, Hampshire, England?”

The research was undertaken in collaboration with the National Trust as an important pilot study to gather evidence on the potential benefits of Nutrient Neutrality. The Trust funds a Water Conservators Dissertation Prize which is awarded to the student who obtains a distinction grade and presents the best dissertation each year on the supported MSc courses.

Louise is now working as the Geomorphology Officer for the Environment Agency (Herts and North London) and will be giving a webinar in December 2023 (along with two other recent graduates) to our current MSc students on her role.
