Geography undergraduate degree programmes at Queen Mary University of London have been accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG).
The Royal Geographical Society awarded accreditation to Queen Mary’s School of Geography Geography BA, Geography BSc and Geography with Business Management BSc programmes.
The Society’s review panel noted that these were “exciting degree programmes giving students the opportunity to study an integrated and cutting-edge approach to geography.” They also commended the School’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in the curriculum.
This marker of recognition by a learned society and professional body for geography underscores the programmes' proven track-record in equipping geography graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their future endeavours. By offering a diverse curriculum that delves into vital global issues, the accredited programmes empower students to tackle grand challenges facing our changing planet upon completion of their studies. From sustainability and inequality to the profound impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on society, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills that they need to make a real difference.

Accreditation is valid for six years and is for the purpose of recognising the delivery of geographical knowledge, understanding, skills, approaches, and attributes expected of high-quality geography graduates in line with the QAA Subject Benchmark Statement for Geography. The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is an approved accreditation provider in the Key Information Set on Unistats.
