Erran is a final year student studying BA Geography.
If you are thinking about joining us in the School of Geography, I would advise you to be open-minded. Throughout your study, you will be introduced and challenged by new ways of thinking and different perspectives, from which you will learn a lot.
I chose QMUL because when I visited it just felt right and I was comfortable. The accommodation was perfect and the on campus experience offered easy access to facilities. The School of Geography is very good and recognised internationally. The modules were also very appealing to me and they have a great careers department. Not only that I had a post-offer interview, which meant I’d met the staff beforehand and got a better offer.
I have always enjoyed Geography and its relevance to ongoing current global affairs. Not only this, but I also feel like the skills and the abilities to develop a better understanding of the world through different perspectives are essential in our modern world.
I enjoy the community feel of QMUL, especially with it being on campus and having everything you need so close. I also enjoy how much variety there is within my module selection, so I can choose what I find most interesting and appealing to me.
My degree has pushed and challenged me, developing both myself and my skills. It has enabled me to view the world differently, and believe in myself to achieve my goals.
When I'm away from my studies I like to spend time working on classic vehicles. Recently I completed a 6 month long project restoring a 52 year old British sports car.
I am still unsure what path I would like to follow after my undergraduate degree, but I would like to purse a masters in Global Development.
