Juan Artola is a researcher and profesor at the Institute for Migration Policies and Asylum (IPMA in Spanish), Tres de Febrero National University, Buenos Aires. Juan also works with the International Network of Migration and Development (INMD), whose secretariat is at the University of Zacatecas, Mexico. Juan has been involved in analysising changes and developments of migration policies in South America, particularly regarding migrant rights, labour mobility and regional integration processes (MERCOSUR, CAN, UNASUR). More recently Juan has been working on how the Latin American and Caribbean Community of States (CELAC in Spanish) approaches migration and new developments of the relation between citizenship and migration in South America; and is presently involved in a study project on skilled migration from and within South America.
