Research themes in the School

Investigates how the earth responds to the interacting chemical, physical and biological processes that drives its evolution over timescales varying from individual storm events through to millennia.

Works to inform and shape debates and new directions in cultural, urban and historical geography.

Explores questions of power, justice and inequality in vital systems and biomedical geographies by working across extant disciplinary approaches to investigating the uneven geographies of human and more-than-human health

Explores diverse paths towards more just worlds: bringing together research into multiple economic, political and social injustices while deploying engaged and often collaborative methodologies to explore just alternatives.

Brings together environmental, human and more-than-human research in the School of Geography to examine the evolving relationship between nature and society.
