Profile

Heather Ford received her PhD from the University of California, Santa Cruz, her master’s degree from San Diego State University, and her first degree from University of California, Davis. Heather is a palaeoceanographer who undertakes geochemical analysis of microfossils from marine sediment to reconstruct past ocean conditions.

Heather recently published a significant paper in the journal Nature Communications on gender and participation in scientific conferences, based on research about the American Geophysical Union Meeting. You can read it here.
