By choosing one of our accredited programmes, you gain the assurance that your education aligns with the highest standards set by professional bodies. Accreditation not only adds prestige to your degree but also opens doors to a vast network of valuable connections and opportunities for your future endeavours after graduation.
As a School, we are dedicated to equipping our graduates to have a positive impact on shaping the world we live in – from the places we inhabit, to the environments that we exist within, and the policies that govern them. This commitment has led us to seek prestigious external accreditation for several of our undergraduate programmes, ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education and preparing them to excel in their future careers.
The Royal Geographical Society (with Institute of British Geographers) is the UK's learned society and professional body for geography, supporting geography and geographers across the world.
The Society accredits our BA Geography, BSc Geography and BSc Geography with Business Management programmes (including with Year Abroad versions).
Accredited degree programmes contain a solid academic foundation in geographical knowledge and skills, and prepare graduates to address the needs of the world beyond higher education. The accreditation criteria require evidence that graduates from accredited programmes meet defined sets of learning outcomes, including subject knowledge, technical ability and transferable skills.
The Community for Environmental Disciplines in Higher Education (CEDHE) is the education committee of the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES).
CEDHE/IES accredits our BSc Environmental Science and BSc Environmental Science with Business Management programmes (including with Year Abroad versions).
CEDHE accredited programmes meet high standards, integrating practical, field, and theoretical activities with ample opportunities for training, work experience, and links to the environmental sector. Students enrolled on CEDHE accredited programmes can seek free IES Student Membership and expedited membership after graduation. Aligned with the academic requirements for Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) status, accredited programmes prepare students for pathways to Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or Chartered Scientist (CSci) status.
