A professionally accredited programme is defined as a programme which has been endorsed by a particular external Professional, Statutory, or Regulatory Body (PSRBs), because the learning and achievement of graduates meets national professional benchmarks. PSRBs are a diverse group of organisations that include professional bodies, regulators and those with statutory authority over a profession or a group of professionals. Graduating from an accredited programme may mean that students qualify for a particular type of employment, are eligible to apply for membership of a professional body, or gain exemption from professional exams or further academic study. Examples of PSRBs who accredit and recognise programmes include: the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, the Royal Aeronautical Society, and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. A number of QMUL's programmes are accredited or recognised by external PSRBs.
