South Asian labour migration – health and vulnerability

Join Queen Mary Global Policy Institute and the Wolfson Institute of Population Health for an overview on the socioeconomic and health implications of labour migration in South Asia. 

Join some of the world leading experts in this field, as they provide insights into the vulnerabilities and health risks that South Asian labour migrants face.  

The event will be chaired by Dominik Zenner, Clinical Reader in Infectious Disease Epidemiology, and Dr Fiona Samuels, Senior Lecturer in Global Health and Inequalities, both from the Wolfson Institute of Population Health at Queen Mary University of London. 

Experts speaking at this event are: 

• Professor Kavita Datta, Professor of Development Geography and Director of the Centre for the Study of Migration, Queen Mary University. 
• Dr Anita Ghimire, Director of the Nepal Institute for Social and Environmental Research. 
• Professor Anuj Kapilashrami, Professor in Global Health Policy and Equity, at the University of Essex. 
• Dr Kolitha Prabash Wickramage, Global Migration Health Research and Epidemiology Coordinator for the International Organization for Migration. 

This event is a hybrid event – so you can join either in person or online. Tickets are free, although limited tickets are available. The in-person event will take place at Willoughby Lecture Theatre in the John Vane Science Centre, in the Charterhouse Square Campus at Queen Mary University.
