British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of History Dr Chris Moffat wrote for the Allegra Laboratory this week. In the article entitled #AFTERLIVES: Shaheen Bagh and the Force of Foundation, Chris covers the one hundred day protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act that took place in Southern Delhi earlier this year. Chris explores the prominence of a number of historical figures in the imagery displayed by the revolutionaries and their relevance to anti-colonial histories in post-colonial India. The protest was only curtailed by the arrival of socail distancing measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
