In 2015/16 I was lucky enough to have access to the private archive of Miguel Mateu y Pla, who was Franco's representative in Paris in 1944-46. I have spent the past year incorporating many of these previously unpublished documents into the narrative of my thesis, with particular regard to the confrontation over Andorra in late-1944/early-1945 and to the closure of the French/Spanish frontier in March 1946.
