Emergency First Aid at Work (FAA Level 3 Award - 1 Day) - HS034
This national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. You may count the qualification accreditation towards your formal general educational development.
Type of training: Face-to-face classroom based.
Duration: 09:00 to 17:00 (a minimum of 6 hours covered in one day)
Objectives:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
- Be able to assess, deal with and report an incident.
- Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty (e.g. breathing normally, not breathing normally)
- Be able to recognise, manage and provide first aid for injuries in the workplace, which includes burns, bleeding and choking.
Certification: Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a written assessment. Valid for a 3 year period.
Suitability: This course is open to all QMUL permanent staff who wish to gain a basic knowledge of first aid and is ideal for low hazard environments (e.g. offices, shops, libraries) or where your needs assessment identifies a requirement for a first aider trained in emergency first aid at work.
Re-qualification: is to attend and successfully complete a 1-day requalification course.
