Manual Handling and Lifting - HS004
A two hour course intended for all staff interested in learning how to lift and shift heavy objects, on a regular basis or from time to time, without sustaining injury.
Duration: 2 hours
Objectives: At the end of the session participants will:
- Define “manual handling”
- Understand the lumbar spine anatomy
- Appreciate the benefits and damage of good and bad lifting technique
- Understand and demonstrate good manual handling
- Apply good handling techniques in their own workplace
Certification: Certificate of Attendance
Suitability: For all staff, including those responsible for the health and safety of others
Requalification / Refresher: It is recommended that refresher training is carried out every three years.
