From the award-winning Mathematical Society to our MathsSoc Conference, you’ll be part of a community as you learn.
We aim to deliver an outstanding student experience in a friendly and diverse community. In the School of Mathematical Sciences you will find a range of activities to support your learning both in and out of the classroom.
Queen Mary is home to hundreds of clubs and societies that you can get involved in whether you’ve got an existing hobby or you’re looking to try something new.
Within the School there is the Mathematics Society who organise social events including pizza nights, paintballing, movie nights and bowling. You’ll also find weekly undergraduate research seminars which are organised in collaboration with PhD students and a range of talks with external speakers to expand your network.
If you want to get more of an idea about what the Mathematics Society at Queen Mary University of London does, and their plans for the future, Lauren Ormonde and Emily Pulford (Co-President and Treasurer of QMMS respectively) offer some insight in an interview.
The recently formed Actuarial Society aims to assist students looking to go into a career as an actuary by holding a range of events to develop your careers skills such as mock interviews, cv writing sessions and employability workshops. They also hold social events and games nights throughout the year.
Whether you’re looking for a career in data, finance, research, statistics, or anything in between, we’re committed to helping you get there. We hold events where you get to meet major employers on campus and discover more about your career options. Recently we’ve had visits from PwC, Morgan Stanley and Isio.
