A fully qualified educationalist since 1979 with both first degree and PhD in education and also a Masters in Innovation, Creativity and Leadership. She has worked as a teacher and lecturer in all sectors from schools through to universities - specifically in the field of medical education since the early 1990s. Her main areas of responsibility are Prehospital Medical Education, Faculty Development and Curriculum Innovation. As the academic lead for the Prehospital Medical Education Unit at Barts and the London School of Medicine she oversees the School’s prehospital work including the Prehospital Care Programme (PCP), run in collaboration with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, and the Intercalated BSc in Prehospital Medicine, which she co-directs with the Head of the Institute of Pre-Hospital Care, London’s Air Ambulance. Both these programmes are the first of their kind in the field. She is also a member of the Faculty of Prehospital Care at the College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Further to this work Professor Goodsman runs a Leadership in medicine SSC and was instrumental in the creation of the BLSU Leadership and Management Society.
