Profile

I am currently acting co-lead for the Community-based medical education team and am responsible for ensuring that as a team we deliver 15% of the MBBS curriculum, and supporting and developing our 150+ GP tutors and our academic and professional services team.

I am Lead for Admissions for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry responsible for ensuring that our admissions processes are fair, accessible and effective.

I work as a practice nurse in Tower Hamlets for one session per week, allowing me to maintain my clinical skills, have regular patient contact, and keep up to date with developments in primary care.

 

Teaching

I was module lead for our Year 1 and 2 clinical placements for almost 20 years and I continue to mentor the new members of the team who are now leading the Medicine in Society 1, GEP MedSoc, MedSoc 2 and General Practice 2 modules.

Research

Research Interests:

My research interests include widening participation in medical education, supporting medical students and doctors with disabilities, transitioning to medical school, and student feedback on teaching.

I am currently working on an ASME-sponsored national study investigating the changes in medical education as a result of the COVID pandemic.
