In an event bringing together two conversations and a screening, James and Meredith, in charge of ABC Archives Indigenous Collections and Deputy Chief Executive of Māori - Pou Ārahi, respectively, will illustrate their work decolonising archival film practices, including indexing, protocols of consultation and digitisation and curatorship.
As part of the IHSS Research Programme Global Epistemologies talks series, Tasha James (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) and Paul Meredith (Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision, New Zealand) will be joining Dr Nikolaus Perneczky and Dr Grazia Ingravalle (both from Queen Mary University of London) to discuss theories and practices of decolonising indigenous film archives.
Dr Mario Slugan (Queen Mary University of London) will moderate the discussion.
