Environmental Futures (Climate Change as Socio-cultural Phenomenon)
The Environmental Futures Programme is hosting a Reading Group! This monthly reading group is designed to create an interdisciplinary community of researchers interested in plant agency. By connecting those with expertise in a range of fields – including botany, biology, plant studies, philosophy, and sociology – the aim is to think together about how to understand plants as meaningful actors that both live in and co-create the world.
We will read papers that consider plant behaviour and the potential for plant agency from a botanical perspective alongside more philosophical texts that question the nature of this apparent agency.
We will meet at Queen Mary University of London (Mile End campus) from 4pm to 6pm on a Friday afternoon.
All are welcome, and there is no requirement to attend all the sessions, so please do sign up!
