Queen Mary University of London has a long history of welcoming students from around the world. Over the years, many thousands of international students have graduated from the university and gone on to pursue successful careers. Today, we are home to students from more than 162 different countries and over 45% of our student body come from outside of the UK. This diversity contributes to a lively and welcoming community which should make you feel comfortable and at home.
We are one of the largest colleges of the University of London and one of the few with fully integrated teaching, research and residential facilities. Our setting provides our students with the benefits of both a large campus environment, and the countless academic and social opportunities provided by London.
There are currently 157 students from France studying at Queen Mary who are enrolled on a range of degree programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Brexit update:
Students Starting in Academic Year 2020-21
The UK government has guaranteed that EU students starting a degree in 2020-21 will continue to be eligible for ‘home fee status’ for the duration of their studies in England and Wales.
It means that:

Students that have successfully completed A-Levels, the European Baccalaureate, or the International Baccalaureate will be considered for admissions to our undergraduate degrees.
Please check the grade requirements for your chosen degree programme via the undergraduate study section of our website.
We also consider students from France with either of the following qualifications:
Our exact requirements depend on the course that you are applying for, but students usually need to obtain a minimum mark of between 13/20 and 15/20 overall. You may also be required to achieve certain grades in subjects relevant to the degree course.
From 2021 onwards, if a subject is required at A Level, the corresponding speciality subject studies over year 12 and year 13 will be accepted. Speciality subjects only taken in Year 12 will not be considered.
We would generally expect applicants to be taking the most relevant Baccalauréat, such as the Baccalauréat "S" for entry to science courses.
This is QMUL’s equivalency table for GCE A-Levels and the Baccalauréat:
Schools will usually request grades in relevant subjects. A = 14/20, B = 13/20
Please note, actual offers may differ slightly.
Please see the link included in the English Language Requirements section below. The English component of the Baccalauréat is often accepted instead of IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge/Pearson for undergraduate courses etc.
UK foundation programme from QMUL or certain other approved institutions
Students whose grades do not meet our minimum requirements may be considered for entry onto one of our Foundation Programmes.
For more information regarding our foundation programmes please click here
If you are currently studying another UK foundation programme elsewhere and would like to progress to one of our Bachelor degrees, please get in touch via the contact details at the bottom of the page.
For detailed Medicine and Dentistry entry requirements and instructions on how to apply, please refer to the School of Medicine and Dentistry website.
Please note, the Baccalauréat is not accepted for admission to either our MBBS or BDS programmes (but is accepted for all other undergraduate programmes).
Information on the comparability of international qualifications can be found on the Entry Requirements section under the listings for each programme in the course finder. Please note this information is only intended as a guide as the final decision on equivalency of overseas qualifications will be made by the Admissions Office at Queen Mary.

I selected Queen Mary because it is one of the only institutions in London to offer my degree and because it is known to be a good University. I have been very satisfied with the teaching and most enjoy carrying out experiments. It is very interesting to work in the labs which are fully equipped and have demonstrators who help us with our work.
London is a wonderful city. The people are nice, helpful, and there are always a million things to do, such as visiting new places or going out at night. The campus at Queen Mary is great and there is everything a student needs: shops to get food or textbooks, a gym, a very nice library, rooms to work, cafes which are affordable, but my favourite is Drapers, a bar/club with a different theme for each night of the week.
I am the captain of the women's tennis team. Playing tennis at Queen Mary made my first year amazing: trainings, socials, matches against other universities... We're like a big family.

I chose Queen Mary because of its good reputation. I wanted to learn English and IT and the UK is an ideal place which combines both. By choosing Computer Science I wanted to be part of the new technology that is changing our world. The main difference to studying at a school or college is that we learn to study alone, but Queen Mary provides a lot of help during the first year in order to make the college to university transition successful. All of the lecturers give a high standard of teaching and provide helpful feedback; they are also very approachable. For ambitious students who want to meet people from all over the world, London is a must! It is rare to find a university which provides a campus in the middle of the city like London and we have a restaurant which serves French cuisine and pubs to have a drink with friends at the end of the day.

I chose Queen Mary because the School of Law has a very good reputation and is one of the best institutions for Intellectual Property Law. I also had the opportunity to attend a university fair in Paris, where I had a chance to meet and discuss the programme with some staff from Queen Mary who were very helpful. Queen Mary was very supportive, not only when I arrived, but also before I came to London. I felt that they genuinely assisted me during the application process.
I decided to live off-campus, but making friends was an immediate process. Furthermore, being part of Queen Mary has allowed me to participate in all kinds of seminars and the International Intellectual Property Moot which took place at the University of Oxford. I am also quite active in Theatrical activities. I am part of the Queen Mary Theatre Company as well as being involved in the Queen Mary Postgraduate Law Society.
There are a number of scholarships and funding options available for students wishing to study at Queen Mary at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Find out more about all of our scholarships and the types of funding available using our database.
